What's The Home Pitch all about?

Welcome to The Home Pitch!

We serve underrepresented communities in Toronto through public service journalism and we’re committed to tackling the pervasive and growing inequities in our city.

After talking to people in local neighbourhoods all over Toronto, I realized we need more community-powered journalism in this city.

Instead of pumping out news stories daily, The Home Pitch will take its time to offer nuanced, fair writing that untangles complex issues. It won’t be just reporting on the problems, it will also highlight solutions.

We pay our journalists a fair rate and it’s readers like you who make this possible!

We need your support to keep providing in-depth local news — and keep it open (no paywalls) and free of charge for everyone.

Founder/Editor in Chief
